Palak Dal Fry.. (Spinach With Lentil Curry)

Palak dal fry very healthy and easy dish. Few days back i got lot of spinach from market and wanted to finish every thing with in 2 or 3days and i had no option what to cook except few dishes from spinach. Then i though lets make palak dal with little bit of twist and it was tasty but different from palak dal. Usually i cook thick palak dal, but this time i added little more water to make it watery and it was going very well with plain rice and papad...


Ingredient's
Toor Dal 1/2 cup, Palak (4 Cups) 3 bunches
2 onion, 1 tomato, 2 green chillies, finely chopped
1/2tsp turmeric, 1/2tsp red chilly powder
1/2tsp coriander powder, 1tsp ginger garlic paste
1/2tsp cumin seeds, 1/2tsp mustard seeds
10 curry leafs
Oil and Salt to taste


Cooking Method
Wash and cut palak to a very fine consistency. and keep it aside separately. In a pressure cooker add dal, palak, tomato, ginger garlic paste, all masala powder, salt and with 2 cup of water. Close the lid and cook for 3 to 4 whistle in a medium flame.
In the mean time you prepare tarka. In a deep fry pan, add oil, When the oil is hot add cumin, mustard seeds and curry leafs, when they splutter, add onion and green chilies fry to golden brown and keep it aside to cool it down. When the dal is cooked open the lid and add the prepared tarka to it and simmer dal for another 4 to 5 minutes. Palak dal fry is ready to serve.
Serve hot with plain rice and papad..

Palak Biryani (Spinach Rice) Pressure cooker version

I'm back from my long holidays!!! After so many days i'm writing my blog again and i'm not having any idea what should i write, this happens with me every time when ever i give a long gap in my blog writing then i will not know only what to write. After a long holiday i'm feeling lazzy to cook some different dishes except dal and rice. I had this recipe in my waiting list from a long time, i think now the time has come to post this Palak Briyani recipe. Since i'm not cooking any other dishes..


Ingredient's
3 cups of shredded spinach
1 cup basmati rice
1/2cup mutter, 1/2cup chopped beans
1 large onion, 2 green chillies, 1 large tomato (sliced thin)
1tsp red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp coriander powder, 2tsp ginger garlic paste
2 bay leafs, 1 green cardamom, 2 dry red chillies
Oil and Salt to taste


Cooking Method
Wash and keep the rice aside with 2 cup of water. In a pressure cooker add oil, when the oil is hot add bay lefas, dry red chillies and cardamom, when they turn brown, add onion and green chillies and fry to golden brown, then add all the masala powder, ginger garlic paste and tomato, cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Now add the green peas, beans, spinach, rice and salt. mix them all together and add 2cup of water. and close the lid and cook for 3 whistle (1 in high flame 2 in low flame)
Serve hot with Raita.

Spinach Paratha (Indian Flat Bread) Palak Paratha.....

Spinach Paratha is a perfect way to enjoy the goodness of spinach. This Indian recipe for unleavened flat bread is a little different from the traditional stuffed version of paratha. Here is the very simple recipe of spinach paratha. Which taste delicious and no need to put more effort to make parathas, you can cook the same delicious paratha with less time and less effort too..

Ingredient's
3 cups Flour
2 cups finely chopped palak
3 Green chillies
1/2 tsp Salt
Ghee/Oil for frying
Water as required

Cooking Method
Make a dough by adding spinach, green chillies, salt and sufficient water. Knead the dough properly and keep it aside for 10 minutes. Then roll out 10-12 pieces.Take a piece and flatten it on the floured board to give the shape of a roti. Put the paratha on a preheated tava.Turn after cooking for 1-2 minute. After a minute apply ghee/oil around the edges and turn again. Fry till the brownish color appears on both sides.
Serve it with Curd, Pickle or Tamrind chutney.

Palak & Chicken Gravy (Spinach & Chicken Gravy)

Chicken and Spinach is very good combo. Chicken has high protein and spinach is very good source of fiber.. which makes the combo a "hearty meal". I learnt this recipe from Sanjeev Kapoor's Khana Kazana. He is great chef, I love his TV shows. Chicken palak, its easy to make recipe and tastes so good. This is usually available in restaurants as Saag chicken. I made this chicken palak for the first time and it was tasting very good... You can try and see..




Ingredient's
Spinach 2 bunches
1kg Chicken, cut in to medium pieces
Oil 6 tablespoons
8 black peppercorns
2 bay leaves
1tsp ginger garlic paste
Onions, finely chopped 2 medium
Cumin powder 2 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Red chilli powder 3/4 tsp
Garam masala powder 1/4 tsp

turmeric 1tsp
Salt to taste
Yogurt 5 tablespoons

Cooking Method
Wash and finely shread spinach, chop onion, ginger and garlic and keep aside.Heat oil in a thick bottomed vessel, add peppercorns, bay leaves, cloves, cardamoms and sauté for a minute. Add finely chopped onions, ginger garlic paste and sauté till onions turn light brown. Add chicken pieces, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric and garam masala and a little salt. Stir-fry for a minute, add one tablespoon of yogurt. Stir-fry for a minute, add one more tablespoon of yogurt. Repeat this till all the yogurt has been used up and the chicken turns light brown. Add spinach and a little more salt to taste. Mix well and stir-fry till the spinach gets well mashed. Cover and cook till the chicken is tender and cook till the gravy is thick. 
Serve hot with rice or roti.

Palak Mutter Gravy (Spinach and Green Peas Gravy)

Palak Mutter is a nutritious spinach and green peas sabji. Palak Mutter is loved by people all over. It is not that difficult to prepare palak mutter at home. Just follow these easy steps and prepare a truly nutritious and delicious spinach and green peas sabji. I had tried combination of spinach and mutter to create a new taste and it turned out so good.. Hope every one like's it ;-)



Ingredient's
1 cup boiled mutter
500g chopped palak (spinach)
1 onion chopped
3 red or green chillies
1/2tbsp musturd seeds
1/2tbsp cumin seeds
1/2tbsp turmeric
4 cloves garlic finely chopped
4 dry red chillies
Oil 4tbsp
Salt to taste


Cooking Method 1
In a broad pan, add 2tbsp oil, when the oil is hot, add cumin seeds, 2 dry red chillies and 3/4 of chopped garlic, fry it golden brown
Add chopped onion and turmeric. fry it for 1minute, now add 3/4 of chopped green chilly, Palak, and salt, mix all together and cook it for 10 miuntes
After cooking allow palak sabji to cool it down for 5 to 10 minutes
Then grind the palak sabji to smooth paste.


Cooking Method 2
In a deep frying pan, add 2tbsp oil, Musturd, 2 dry red chillies, when they splutter, add the left over chopped garlic and green chilly, fry it for 30sec
Now add boiled mutter and salt, cook it for 1minute
Then add palak paste and 4tbsp of water, mix all together, cook for another 7 to 8 minutes
Keep stirring in between so that it will not stick to the pan.
Add 1tbsp of Ghee before serving
Serve with Roti, Nan, Paratha's.

Palak Paneer

This recipe was inspired from a Sanjeev Kapoor's cooking show and i like this recipe so much from that day. I have been preparing my mind to cook this as soon as possible and that never happened. Yesterday i forced my self to cook this and taste. And OMG that was so tasty i was not able to believe my self that i cooked this dish . Quick to make and good to eat is the perfect caption for Palak paneer! This is a tasty vegetable dish and it is full of good nutrients too. When greens are delicately spiced and seasoned they are transformed into tasty dishes that are popular with adults and children.


Ingredient's
Spinach 2 large bunches
Cottage cheese (paneer) 200 grams
Green chillies 2-3
Garlic 8-10 cloves
Oil 3 tablespoons
Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Lemon juice 1 tablespoon
Fresh cream 4 tablespoons




Cooking Method
Remove stems, wash spinach thoroughly in running water. Blanch in salted boiling water for two minutes. Refresh in chilled water. Squeeze out excess water. Remove stems, wash and roughly chop green chillies. Grind spinach into a fine paste along with green chillies. Dice paneer into one inch by one inch by half inch pieces. Peel, wash and chop garlic. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds. When they begin to change colour, add chopped garlic and sauté for half a minute. Add the spinach puree and stir. Check seasoning. Add water if required. When the gravy comes to a boil, add the paneer and mix well. Stir in lemon juice. Finally add fresh cream. Serve hot.

Palak Dal (Spinach Leafs)

Spinach is thought to be native to Southwest Asia and unknown to the Greeks and Romans. First cultivated by the Persians, it is now cultivated throughout the world, with the exception of the tropics. Although grown in China for centuries. Spinach leafs known for high Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium and its Vitamin Content. Definitely a good choice to add to your menu. and it is very good for health... and it is again a easy to cook dish..



Ingredient's
2 bunch of palak 
1cup toor dal 
1 small onion 
2 tomato 
2 green chilly 
1tbs turmeric 
Salt.

For tempering
1/2tbs cumin/jeera 
1/2tbs mustard seeds.

Cooking Method
Cut the onion,chilly,tomato in to small picese 
Take a pressure cooker and add chopped palak,dal,cut vegetable,turmeric,salt and 2cup of water and boil it for 20minutes in a medium flam 
In a small frying pan add 2tbs oil and add cinnamon and mustard seeds saute till it become's brown 
After the dal is boiled, add the tempering in to dal and cover the lid and cook it for 5minutes.

Channa Palak (Chickpeas)

Chana Palak could be the right choice if you are planning to square up a balanced meal . Chana Palak brings in the proteins of dal and iron of palak (spinach) together. Quick to make and good to eat. This is a tasty vegetable dish and it is full of good nutrients too. Try out the following recipe to prepare delicious Channa Palak and savour the taste…


Ingredient's
300g White Channa (Chickpeas)
1 bunch of palak (Spinach) finely chopped
1 onion chopped
2 red chillies chopped
5 to 6 stem of coriander leafs chopped
1 tomato chopped
1tbsp ginger garlic paste
1/2tbsp turmeric, 1/2tbsp garam masala, 1/2tbsp coriander powder
4 dry red chillies
1/2tbsp cinnamon seeds
Oil 3tbsp
Salt as per taste


Cooking Method
Soak channa over night. Pressure cooker channa and salt for 10 to 15 minutes, and keep it saprately. In a broad pan , add oil, ginger garlic paste, cinnamon seeds, and dry red chillies, when they splutter, add onion, fry it to golden brown. Then add chopped red chillies, coriander leafs, stir it for few seconds, after that add turmeric, garam masala and coriander powder, keep stiring till the masala starts leaving oil . Add tomato and wait for 10 sec, then smash the tomato in the masala. Now add chopped palak and salt, mix it together and cover the lid and cook for 4 minutes. Then add boiled channa and 1/2 cup of water, mix it and check for salt if needed add salt. Cover the lid and cook for another 10 to 12 minutes.
Serve with Poori or Roti . Channa Palak is ready to serve.

Aaloo-Palak Stir Fry (Potato-Spinach)

Aaloo Palak is an everyday food during the season of spinach, so I have used little amount of spices and vegetable oil to make it nutritious and healthy even after cooking. Aloo Palak can be eaten during lunch or dinner. This is very easy to cook, first time i made this aaloo-palak stir fry and it turn out to be very taste. Basically i add red chilly because i love to eat spicy food.


Ingredient's
2 potato, 1 bunch of palak(spinach) 
1 onion (chopped) 
5 dry red chilly 
1 green chilly (optinal) 
1/2tbs garlic paste 
1/2tbs turmeric, 1/2tbs coriander powder 
1/2tbs musturd seeds 
Oil 
Salt as per taste.

Cooking Method
Cut the potato, palak in to small pieces 
In a pan add oil, fry the potato and salt to lite brown and keep it separately 
Add oil in deep frying pan, when the oil is hot, add musturd, red chilly, when they splutter, add onion, garlic paste, fry it to brown 
Add turmeric, coriander powder and 1/2 cup of water, when the water is boiling add potato, cook it for 2minutes 
Add palak, salt and cook it for 5minutes. 
Serve hot with Roti.

    Bibimbap Korean Dish


    Ingredients
    Cooked rice
    a package of bean sprouts
    a bunch of spinach
    2 small size of zucchinis
    5-7 mushrooms
    fern brakes (kosari)
    200 grams of Chicken (about half a pound)
    1 small carrot, eggs
    soy sauce, hot pepper paste, garlic, sesame oil,
    and vegetable oil.

    Cooking Method
    Cooked rice.
    Next, you need to prepare a large platter to put all your ingredients on. Rinse your bean sprouts 3 times and put them in a pot with a cup of water. Add 1 ts of salt and cook for 20 minutes. Drain water and mix it with 1 clove of minced garlic, sesame oil and a pinch of salt.Put it on the platter.

    Put your spinach in a pot of boiling water and stir it for a minute. Then rinse it in cold water a few times and squeeze it lightly. Mix it with a pinch of salt, 1 ts of soy sauce, 1 clove of minced garlic and sesame oil. Put it on the platter.

    Slice mushrooms thinly and sauté with 1 ts of vegetable oil. Add 2 ts of soy sauce and 1 or 2 ts of sugar and stir it for 2 minutes. Add some sesame oil, and put it on the platter.

    On a heated pan, put some oil and 200 grams of chicken and stir it till its cook completely. Add 4 cloves of minced garlic, 1 tbs of soy sauce, 1/2 tbs of sugar, a little grounded black pepper, and sesame oil.Put it on the platter.

    Cut a carrot into strips, sauté it for 30 seconds and put it on the platter. Prepare eggs with sunny side up. Put your rice In a big bowl, and attractively display all your vegetables and meat t. Place the sunny side up egg on the center. Serve it with sesame oil and hot pepper paste.
